Demokratska socijalistica Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez primila je intenzivne negativne kritike nakon intervjua koji je dala za PBS u kojem je komentirala antisemitskim tonom, što je čak i kod ljevičarskih komentatora izazvalo osjećaje nelagode zbog njezinih primjedbi.
U intervjuu koji je dala za PBS, Ocasio-Cortez nazvala je Izrael “okupatorom” Palestine, a zatim je nespretno pokušala objasniti svoj stav.
Nakon neuspjelog pokušaja, nositeljica diplome iz ekonomije i međunarodnih odnosa zaključila je da ne zna o čemu priča i da nije “stručnjak” po tom pitanju.
