U petak, korisnik Twittera uhvatio je trenutak kad je novinar Weather Channela, kako se čini, lažirao ozbiljnost vjetra uzrokovanog ugaranom Florence, koji se sručio na kopno Sjeverne Karoline.
U videu pogledanom više od 18 milijuna puta u samo 24 sata, možemo vidjeti novinara Weather Channela Mikea Seidela kako pokušava održati kontakt sa zemljom, suprotstavljajući se, naizgled, snažnom vjetru. Rekao je: “Ovo je do sada najgadnije”.
Dok je Seidel govorio, na snimci se mogu vidjeti dvojica muškaraca u kratkim hlačama koji ležerno hodaju iza novinara — naizgled neuznemireni vjetrom.

Weather Chanell brzo je potrčao u Seidelovu obranu, rekavši: “Važno je napomenuti da dvojica pojedinaca u pozadini hodaju po asfaltu, a Mike Seidel pokušava održati ravnotežu na mokroj travi, nakon što je izvještavao uživo do 01:00 ujutro i nedvojbeno je iscrpljen.”
Video je prikupio desetke tisuća reakcija na mreži, a velika većina ljudi smatra video ili presmiješnim ili uznemirujućim pošto je Seidel očito netočno prikazivao situaciju:
